High Octane Bar

The High Octane Bar is at present just a small home bar setup for me to relax and entertain, however if all goes to plan one day the concept will move to a commercial operation under Western Australia's Small Bar License system.

Of course, that'll mean finding suitable premises, staff and quite a bit of funding to get us through the paperwork that goes with getting a Small Bar License. In the meantime, I'll keep hoarding cool stuff to decorate the bar with and fine tuning my cocktail recipes.

What is High Octane Spirits?

High Octane Spirits and Distillery is a bit of a pipe dream for now, but it's something I hope to make happen sooner rather than later. The focus of the enterprise would be in on-site distilling and sales of spirits and a selected range of food offerings.

Distilling of spirits is something I've had a technical interest in for some time, but that I've not yet had the opportunity to experiment with.  High Octane Spirits and Distillery would give me that opportunity.

The grand plan I have would involve a site somewhere in semi-rural WA (the Swan Valley and Margaret River regions come to mind, but there are many other suitable locations in WA) with an on-site distillery and rack house, a tasting area, bar and restaurant.

We would also import selected premium spirits from around the world, particularly those that are not easily found here in Australia. Our on-site bar would focus on cocktails and drinks mixed with premium spirits, both in house and other brands, and would serve a selection of premium craft beers on tap. The restaurant would complement the bar area and together would enable us to provide function facilities on demand.

Part of the facility would include our own tribute to the toasted sandwich, a comfort food restaurant offering up a menu which would include melted cheese in around 90% of it's offerings.
